Insurance

Optimum Physical Therapy Associates locations and providers are Medicare certified and are accepted to receive payment by most of the varied plans that are managed by the following companies:

  • Aetna
  • Amerihealth
  • Blue Cross/Shield (Highmark, Capital, Anthem, Horizon, Independence, etc.)
  • Cigna
  • Devon Health Care
  • Medicare
  • Motor Vehicle Accidents
  • Personal Choice
  • Tricare
  • United Health Care
  • Workers’ Compensation
  • Many Smaller Private Insurance Companies

Your insurance company may cover most or part of your therapy visits, but you will likely have a co-payment or percentage due for each therapy visit wherever you attend PT. In general, insurance companies are decreasing the amount they pay for therapy and increasing the part that falls upon the patient (while freezing or decreasing the total amount paid per visit). We have found that co-payments range from $5-$75. If you have a deductible, your insurance company may make you responsible for that amount before they cover therapy. Your personal responsibility can only be determined by calling your insurance company or reading your policy manual; each plan is different and the insurers above have many varied sub plans that they put their name on.

We also offer reasonable cash payment plans for those who do not have physical therapy insurance coverage or do not want to utilize their “benefit”.

The Therapists have Certificates of Authorization to treat under Direct Access from the Pennsylvania Bureau of Professional and Occupational Affairs. With Direct Access in Pennsylvania, you do not need a prescription to seek initial physical therapy treatment, but your insurance company may require one.
